Letter from the Road
Well……………………. So it’s been a long time since we’ve updated you all on what’s been going on with “the road”. Where to start? First off, God is amazing! The places He has taken us, the people He has placed in our lives, and the courage He has given reminds us that He cares about our passions and dreams. What a joy it is to serve such a God.
What’s been going on? Lots of things! This semester has been full of spirit filled youth groups, wonderful worship experiences, revelations, new beginnings, and much anticipated spiritual growth. We have seen Crosspoint Fellowship turn a new leaf and Lifted find its freedom. We have witnessed miracles, seen the love of Christ, and felt the hand of God through His provisions. We have been revived through our friends at Unite, encouraged by the ones who miss us, and driven by the ones who we’ve yet to touch. We are thankful in every way that we get to be Burgundy Road. What a joy!
What’s ahead? New music, new look, and new blessings. Our desire, our dream, is to change the way people view ministry through music and Christian music as a whole. It is not our passion to entertain, sell CD’s, or even sign record deals. We just long to be effective and relevant. We know that God is moving in these things, and so therefore, we look forward to living in His glory until it all comes to completion. Look forward with us to new challenges, unexpected surprises, and crazy good times. We cherish your support and ask for your continued prayers. Thank you so much!
Letter from the Road
Wow. So where do you begin such a letter?. There are so many things we could talk about and share with you. Let's just start out by saying: life on the road with Burgundy Road is anything but normal. Of course if you knew anything about us we wouldn't have to explain that at all. With these five guys you never ever know what's coming next. For instance, just last weekend, Trey, Nik, Jason, and Noe (band friend) decided to have a competition. On the way home from Odessa they challenged each other to see who could keep their head out of the suburban window the longest. I'm not sure but I believe Jason won that one with a time of 33 minutes. From frequent road side "pit" stops to frequent highway patrol pull over's, you never know what's going to happen. This is why we have started this letter. To let you inside our world, so that you might share in our blessings of travel and randomness.
The month of May was absolutely wondermous. That's right, wondermous. From College Station, Rock the Ranch, and Seven Points, to Permian High Project Graduation, and Desert Thunder, May was unforgettable. It's crazy you know--the love that God displays in His people. The way that He speaks to the heart of an individual and moves one into action. So many times we have seen this and the past month was no exception. College Station brought us 6 new friends (not fans, friends). These people took care of us with everything they had. Food, lodging, gifts, laughter, and financial support. None of which was expected. All of which is greatly appreciated. Thank you Mike D and the ladies. We love you! Rock the Ranch blessed us to see salvation through rock n' roll, and gave us a glimpse once again into true worship in believers. Oh, and a mascot! Thanks Merkle and cowfolk! Seven Points brought us new partners in ministry as well as unexpected venues. I don't know if we will play Subway ever again, but it was worth the free cookies. Thank you Deven and sandwich partner. Last, Odessa, Texas. What a trip. New fans, new friends, and a chance to drag race the suburban! We lost. Thank you Seirra, Carlos, Chad, and whomever was in that black firebird that smoked us on the strip. We love the road, so much that we pray to make it our livelihood one day. There is truly nothing better or more satisfying than to do what God created you to do, and to see His hand in motion with your work. Thank you to everyone who has supported and loved us this past month. We pray to see you all soon!
